Wedding Card

I was asked to make a wedding card for a couple getting married in Cyprus.
The brief was 'various shades of blue's & teal'

Started with an 8 x 8 card blank and cut a heart background on the Silhouette Cameo.

The leaves and flowers are from dies and cutting files and coloured with various green inkpads to give tonal effects.

The butterflies & the letters are made from Martha Stewart Air Dry Clay let overnight to dry and then painted with twinkling H2O's - the effect is lost on the photo but they do shimmer when the card is moved.

The box was cut on the silhouette cameo to match the background

Hope you like it and thank you for stopping by my blog today

Owl card commission

and you'll just have to guess what is on the inside as I'm not saying :-)

The owl stamp is an urban stamp from papermania and paper pieced.
The leafy branch was cut on a cameo.

The background was made from 3 shades of panpastels

Simple is as simple does

but loved by client & recipient :-)

Clean & Simple birthday card

This is a clean & simple birthday card that I rushed to make because I thought I had to deliver it tomorrow -
its not needed til next week - d'oh.

Anyway, the dies are from Sizzix and I also used a deckle edge aperture mask from Ali Reeve to do the central band with 2 shades of panpastels. I stamped over the vase with a Visible Image stamp to give texture & depth to the vase itself and brushed the edges lightly with panpastels.

The flowers have Cosmic Shimmer 'golden pearl' drops in the centre's.
The sentiment was written on the silhouette cameo and cut out afterwards.

2 more orders completed today

Here's 2 cards I have done today for people.
The top one has loads of Creative Expressions gilding waxes on & mica powders
and glimmers every time you move it.

The 2nd card has a pan pastel background and was originally designed with the yellow at the top but it looks a whole lot better with the yellow at the bottom instead.

Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by my blog today x

"Sorry you're leaving" commissioned card

Good morning everyone.

I received an email from a lady in Preston who had come across my site by typing 'handmade cards' into Google and looking at the images. She was impressed with my cards so got in touch about a card for a school teacher colleague who is leaving at the end of term. I was given a brief and here is the card which I created for her & her colleagues to sign.

Hope you like it and thank you for stopping by my blog today

Commissioned birthday card

It wouldn't normally take the best part of a day to make a card like this, but my parents arrived to use my flat as a waiting room to save them going home then coming back into town lol. So I had to entertain them for a while, which turned out to be very easy to do - Tour De France was already on Eurosport so they were happy with that. They used to race themselves back in the day and my dad, now 91 and unable to ride a bike any longer, likes to watch when he can. So, whilst they were content to watch the racing, and also take in the beautiful scenery in Corsica (where today's stage was held), I was able to crack on and carry on the this card which is for an order. I must also improve my photography skills as it looks quite dull in this picture.

The stamps are from "Acid Drops & What Nots" - a great selection of designs from a company with the motto 'Life, but from a different angle'. 'Betty' has been coloured with promarkers and simply mat & layered into card stock. I even used a sheet of my beloved Tim Holtz 'Vintage Shabby' paper for the background and the handmade paper flowers.

Lastly the leaves & foliage were cut from a selection of Spellbinder Dies to add interest & texture. You can never have too many leaves or too much foliage on a card. Well, I don't think so anyway.

So there you have it. This card will be its on way to its new home soon and I had best make a start on the next one on my list - and hopefully not spend all day on it.

Wedding Anniversary Card

Here's a card for a son & daughter-in-laws wedding anniversary.

I had both a free stencil & a free embossing folder from craft magazines so used both of these on a pice of white cardstock after using 3 shades of PanPastels to create the background.

The sentiment 'button' was created in 'My Craft Studio' software then die cut with a
Spellbinders die. the 2 backing strips were cut on a Silhouette cameo then dusted over with cranberry ink.

If the shoe fits ...................................

Here is a card for an upcoming birthday.
I used the silhouette cameo to add the sentiment direct onto
the card stock, then filled in the spaces with a
sakura red glitter pen.

The flower shoe decoupage is from Katy Sue Designs
Fabulous Shoes CD. It was cut out on the silhouette cameo
using the print & cut method.

Hope you like it

Birthday card for a daughter

2 recent commissions

The 2 cards above are for a young lady celebrating her 21st Birthday.

The brief for the 2nd card was "Stephen Spielberg movies" so I used images from films since her birth to the present day in the film strip and various movie embellishments.

Anniversary card for my parents

Tomorrow (6th May 2013) is my parents 63rd Wedding Anniversary

63??? Wow - thats some record.

Anyway's, I wanted to keep this card simple so used a doily pattern cut out on the Silhouette and used the pen again for the wording in the centre.

I cut the doily twice and used the 2nd one as a stencil to do the corners of the card.

The corners are a JOY die.

Dusty Concord distress ink was used through out

When Spellbinders met Silhouette Cameo - A marriage made in heaven

Here is a wedding card using a combination of Spellbinders and Silhouette Cameo cutting files.

I started out by using Serif Craft Artist Professional 2 software to make the backing paper that is under the Moroccan lattice that is  available from the Silhouette America store.

The flowers are a combination of GSD flowers imported into the Silhouette software, a spellbinders floral die and a simply one from the remains of the paper.

The two interlocking hearts are a Spellbinder D-Lites die. I cut one edge and interlocked them before sticking them down.

The name plaque was done on the Silhouette cameo using the drawing pens then the frame added and cut out as usual. I used a sakura gold star pen to add detail to the name & date.

I hope you like this card and if you would like to order a card like this,
please get in touch.
